2.5m Primary Mirror Aluminizing Results - 2002
Sloan Digital Sky Survey Telescope Technical Note 20021002-1 Prepared by Bill Boroski
The SDSS 2.5-m primary mirror was re-aluminized at Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO) on September 26, 2002. The mirror was washed prior to stripping off the existing coating and applying the fresh coating. Optical reflectance, reflectivity, and scattering measurements were made before and after the washing operation, and after the new coating was applied. The following graphs document the improvement in optical quality after each step.

Measurements were taken and the data graphed by Gary Poczulp, of the National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO). Questions regarding the measurement method and results should be directed to him.
